RSP UK turns 10: Celebrating a decade at The Belfry

  • news

On Saturday 26 September 2026, RSP UK marked its 10th anniversary with a celebration evening at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield.

Around 250 guests joined us in the Masters Suite, including customers, suppliers, our team and our colleagues from RSP Germany, to look back on ten years of the business.

It was also a night to honour two people who have shaped RSP UK since day one: Nigel Gardener, who retires after more than 50 years in the industry, and Jens Graber, who is stepping back from his role on the RSP UK board.

TV magician and presenter Ben Hanlin hosted the evening and introduced the speeches and films.

Ten years of RSP UK

RSP UK was founded in 2016 as the UK arm of the RSP Group. Since then it has grown into a leading supplier of premium suction excavators, vacuum excavators and road sweepers across the RSP, Amphitec and BROCK brands. Today the business covers machinery sales, service, parts and training. Our dedicated training centre offers EUSR, CPCS and NVQ training.

“Ten years ago we set out to build something special, and standing in that room with our customers, our team and our RSP family was an incredibly proud moment,” said Director Charlie Gardener. “The machines may be what brought us together, but it is the relationships that have made the last ten years so special.”

A night for the Henry Allen Trust

The Henry Allen Trust was at the heart of the evening. It is a Milton Keynes charity close to our Bedfordshire base, and our chosen charity for the anniversary year. Henry loved road sweepers and sadly passed away aged just four.

In his memory, we dedicated a BROCK road sweeper to him. It carries his face and the Trust’s livery, and it welcomed guests as they arrived at the venue.

The Trust’s film, introduced by Ben, was one of the most moving moments of the night. Thanks to the generosity of our guests, we raised over £15,500 for the charity. We now plan to offer “Henry’s road sweeper” to the industry to raise more money for the Trust.

“Raising £15,500 for the Henry Allen Trust made the night mean even more, and we would like to thank everyone who gave so generously,” said Charlie.

Celebrating Nigel Gardener

Nigel joined RSP UK as Business Support Manager when the company was formed in 2016. He brought a wealth of experience in heavy plant and trenchless technology, and earlier in his career he helped introduce trenchless technologies internationally.

Across the industry, Nigel is known as a true supporter of the customer. He set the standard for professionalism at RSP UK with immaculate presentation and meticulous attention to detail. He gave every customer the same care and was always there when they needed him.

Nigel retires with two Lifetime Achievement Awards. In September 2026 he received one from Family Business United, five years to the day after the UKSTT gave him its Lifetime Achievement Award.

“My Dad, Nigel, has worked in this industry for more than fifty years, and he has given RSP UK his time, experience, advice, patience and support,” said Director Lloyd Gardener. “He helped us build this business into what it is today, and we are incredibly proud of him and deeply grateful for everything he has done.”

Thanking Jens Graber

The evening also paid tribute to Jens Graber, a founding member of RSP Germany, as he steps back from the RSP UK board.

Jens has been a guiding figure since the company was founded, and his support and friendship have been central to our growth over the past decade.

“Our relationship with RSP goes back twenty years, and those working relationships have become genuine friendships,” added Lloyd. “As Jens steps back from the board, we thank him for the groundwork he laid in the UK, and for his hard work, fairness and friendship. We admire him enormously.”

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who joined us at The Belfry and helped make our 10th anniversary so special, and to everyone who gave so generously to the Henry Allen Trust.

Here’s to the next ten years.
